The new format will feature four teams of seven players competing in a three-game tournament, each game having a final target score. The teams will consist of 12 rookies and 12 sophomores, and four G League Ignite players will also be included for the first time.
This will be the first Rising Stars Challenge game since 2020 after the game was not held in 2021 because the League downsized All-Star weekend due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but the NBA announced the rosters for the game anyway.
