Despite the myriad stars—both past and current—that the Los Angeles Lakers have signed to their roster this offseason, consistent perimeter shooting and youth remain the biggest question marks for the championship hopefuls.
As a result, the Lakers have turned their attention to free agent wing James Ennis.
Per HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, Ennis has received interest from the Chicago Bulls and Orlando Magic, along with the Lakers.
Ennis is a player with speed to burn, making most of his plays in transition (1.17 points per possession in 2020-21) or spot-up opportunities (1.25 points per possession in 2020-21).
Fresh off a season where he shot a career-high 43.3 percent from 3-point range while with the Magic, Ennis will undoubtedly be able to provide the Lakers with serviceable wing depth and a potential rotation piece in the 3-and-D mold.
Los Angeles is currently projected to have Talen Horton-Tucker and Kent Bazemore as the depth behind LeBron James at small forward.
