The Atlanta Hawks attempt to move up the play-in tournament standings just got a bit more complicated after Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the Wake Forest product will be out indefinitely after suffering a plantar fascia tear in his foot and ring finger injury.
Hawks forward John Collins has a plantar fascia tear in his right foot as well as damage to his right ring finger, sources tell me and @ChrisKirschner. Collins has been playing through pain for past several weeks, but will now be sidelined indefinitely.

The Hawks (34-35) have 13 games remaining left to attempt to catch the Hornets (35-35) and the Nets (36-34) before the regular season concludes. The 2021-2022 season hasn’t gone the way Atlanta expected, coming off their Eastern Conference Finals appearance against the Bucks last year. The struggles the Hawks have experienced could be attributed to inconsistent play and injuries to Collins, De’Andre Hunter, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and Kevin Huerter.
The Hawks will look to add to the win column when they face the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night.
