Cassell just finished his second season in Philadelphia as an assistant coach under Doc Rivers. He also worked under Rivers with the Clippers from 2014-2020. Cassell started his coaching career at Washington from 2009-2014.
Cassell played 15 seasons as a point guard in the NBA with the Rockets, Suns, Mavericks, Nets, Bucks, Timberwolves, Clippers, and Celtics. He retired as a one-time All-Star and three-time champ from his time with Houston (’94–95) and Boston (2008). Now-Jazz CEO Danny Ainge constructed that 2008 title team.
