The Memphis Grizzlies frontcourt has been decimated by injuries as of late, with Jaren Jackson Jr. and Brandon Clarke out for at least the next couple of weeks. Help is on the way in the form of veteran big man Anthony Tolliver per a report from The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Tolliver will sign a 10 Day contract with Memphis. The 6-foot-8 Tolliver was recently waived by the Sacramento Kings. The Kings had previously acquired Tolliver from the Portland Trail Blazers in a trade in late-January.
In reduced role with Portland and Sacramento, Tolliver has averaged just 3.3 points per game this season. He’ll have a chance to have an impact in Memphis however, as Kyle Anderson and 10 Day signee Jarrod Uthoff are the only healthy power forwards on the Grizzlies roster.
Charania also reports that Memphis will waive Jordan Bell. This is how the Grizzlies will free up the roster spot to sign Tolliver. Bell has appeared in just two games for Memphis after being acquired at the trade deadline in a swap that send Bruno Caboclo to the Houston Rockets.
