Around the trade deadline last season, Svi Mykhailiuk was traded from the Detroit Pistons to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Set to become a restricted free agent in the months following that deal, there was a chance he would just be a rental for OKC.
After the Thunder rescinded his qualifying offer, Mykhailiuk became an unrestricted free agent and will now sign with the Toronto Raptors, as first reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic.
This will be a two-year deal with a player option in the second season. Charania also reported that several contenders expressed interest in the sharpshooting wing before he reached agreement with Toronto.
Last season with the Thunder and Pistons, Mykhailiuk played in 66 games, averaging 8.5 points per game on 33.4 percent from deep.
He’ll be a solid piece for the Raptors going forward with his versatility to play both guard and wing at 6-foot-7.
