The Toronto Raptors have agreed to a two-year, $14.3 million deal with Aron Baynes, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Baynes will step into a frontcourt that just lost Serge Ibaka and Marc Gasol to free agency.
Baynes joins Toronto after a career best 2019-20 campaign in which he averaged 11.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. The 33-year-old also shot .351 on over four three-point attempts per game.
Baynes will join a Raptors team eager to put together another deep run in the 2021 playoffs but his contract comes with a team option in 2021-22 so that the organization can maintain financial flexibility.
