Warriors 96, Thunder 88 (Golden State wins series 4-3)
At one point trailing three games to one in the Western Conference Finals, Golden State completed an improbable comeback with a 96-88 victory over the Thunder at the Oracle Arena tonight, advancing to the NBA Finals. This year’s Finals match-up will be a repeat of 2014-15, with the Warriors taking on LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

As was the case throughout the latter stages of Game 6, Klay Thompson was a thorn in OKC’s side; going 6-for-11 from downtown, combining with Stephen Curry for 57 points. Alternatively, the Thunder’s inability to land long distance shots hampered the team’s success. Billy Donovan’s squad shot 7-of-27 from beyond the arc, paling in comparison to Golden State’s 17-for-37 mark. There are more questions than solutions for OKC entering the offseason, particularly regarding Kevin Durant. After spending the first nine seasons of his career with the same team, Durant will enter free agency over the offseason.

Game 1 of the NBA Finals will take place on Thursday at 9:00 PM EDT at the Oracle Arena. Will Stephen Curry and the Warriors repeat their 2014-15 performance, or will LeBron James earn his first ring since 2013?
