The New Orleans Pelicans have one of the brightest futures of any team across the league. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, they’ll now add depth in the form of free agent big man Willy Hernangomez.
Still just 26 years old, Hernangomez spent the last several season with the Charlotte Hornets and can be another step in the right direction for this young Pelicans team.
Hernangomez wil provide depth in the frontcourt behind Zion Williamson and newly acquired Steven Adams. He will assist in filling the void left by Derrick Favors who signed with the Utah Jazz in free agency. Last season, he averaged 6.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.
The New Orleans Pelicans have completely flipped their roster over the past few seasons and look completely different than they did the last time they made the playoffs. In fact, no player on their 2018-19 team is still on the roster.
