A second-round pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, New Orleans Pelicans guard Didi Louzada is a long-term project. While he hasn’t played much at this point in his career, the 6-foot-5 Brazilian has potential.
While playing with the Birmingham Squadron of the G League over the weekend, Louzada suffered a torn meniscus, meaning he will be out indefinitely.
Spending most of his time in the G League this season, he’s only played in two games for the Pelicans in the 2021-22 campaign. Louzada has produced two rebounds and one assist total in seven total minutes.
While there’s a chance he ultimately evolves into a solid NBA player, for now he still hasn’t proven to be ready to take that step. However, he was taken No. 35 overall in his draft for a reason and has the tools needed.
After recovering from this left knee injury, Louzada will look to get back on track in his pursuit to being a full-time NBA player.
