While he’s no longer in his prime as a 36-year-old veteran, Paul Millsap is someone who can still impact winning. After spending the last four seasons in Denver with the Nuggets, he’s an unrestricted free agent and a forward who should be relatively cheap.
According to Mike Singer of The Denver Post, the Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets are both interested in signing Millsap.
This makes sense, as Millsap at this point in his career fits best as a rotational veteran on a championship contending team.
Last season with the Nuggets, he started in over 60 percent of the games he played in, showing the ability to positively impact the game as a starter or off the bench.
Millsap finished the 2020-21 season averaging 9.0 points and 4.7 rebounds in just 20.8 minutes per game. A forward that’s able to stretch the floor, he’s got career average of 34.4 percent from beyond the arc and fits the modern NBA well.
Whether it’s the Nets, Bucks or another contender, Millsap should be a key signing this summer for a team this offseason.
