Anthony Edwards Huge Second Quarter Leads Confident Timberwolves to Win Over Lakers

The Minnesota Timberwolves have quietly been collecting wins by beating struggling teams all season long. On Wednesday night, the beat went on for them as they added the free-falling Los Angeles Lakers to the list in dominating fashion.

The Timberwolves unceremoniously dismissed the Lakers 124-104 for their ninth win in the last 10 games, guaranteeing a spot in the play-in tournament.

While Karl-Anthony Towns closed out the game for Minnesota, Anthony Edwards set the tone for the team with a huge second quarter that propelled the Wolves to a huge halftime lead.

Edwards scored 20 of his 27 points in the second quarter by knocking down all five of his three-point attempts in the frame after just shooting only 29 percent from behind the arc in his past 10 games.

“A couple players on your team got to have swag,” Edwards said about his confidence via The Star Tribune. . “It can’t just be one. Once a couple of them get swag, then you put it in three more, four more and everybody feel like they the man of the hour and that’s what we need.”

Despite the satisfying win and his team building confidence, Minnesota Coach Chris Finch stated his team needed to learn how to control their emotions.

 “I like the fact that we have confidence, the fact that we play with a lot of emotion. We also have to realize we have to mature a little bit and act like we’ve been there before.” Finch said via ESPN.

The Timberwolves get a chance to practice handling their swag against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday.
