The Milwaukee Bucks and General Manager Jon Horst have agreed to a multi-year contract extension, according to NBA.com. Horst’s contributions helped the team to its first NBA title since 1971 after defeating the Phoenix Suns in six games last season. The move is in cohesion with the Bucks signing coach Mike Budenholzer to an extension earlier in this offseason.
Horst, the former NBA Executive of the Year back in 2019, has held the position since 2017 with featured moves such as heading up the coaching search that landed Budenholzer in 2018.
The Bucks ownership released a statement about Horst’s influence to the team’s success via NBA.com.
”Jon’s preparedness, decision-making and leadership have been instrumental in the Bucks’ success during his tenure, and he has earned this extension,” Bucks owners Marc Lasry, Wes Edens and Jamie Dinan said in a statement.
In Horst’s four seasons as general manager, the Bucks made it to the Eastern Conference Finals twice and appeared in the NBA Finals last season. Over the last three seasons, the Bucks have consistently been one the NBA’s most dominant teams with the top regular season record with 162-65 and the most playoff wins in the League over the last three seasons with 31.
Horst showed his appreciation to everyone in the organization for their support.

This season will be Horst’s 14th season after working nine years as the Director of Basketball Operations back in ’08.
