The Miami Heat are interested in perennial All-star James Harden, per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
Harden reportedly wants out of Houston, and his lists includes the 76ers and, notably, the Brooklyn Nets so that he could join forces with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
It was only a few weeks ago that Rockets coach Stephen Silas said he was giving Harden “space” after he expressed interest in being traded, but Silas also mentioned that he’s “confident that [Harden will] be all-in” when the season starts.
However, Harden is continuing to push a trade, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne recently reported, specifically due to the “arrival of John Wall”:
“The arrival of John Wall has left All-NBA guard James Harden unmoved and uninterested in pursuing a new partnership and the franchise star continues to push the Houston Rockets for a trade,” Woj tweeted.
To make things even more interesting, Jackson reports that the Heat’s rising star, Tyler Herro, is not “untouchable” and could be “made available” in the deal:
“The source disputed any suggestion that Heat guard Tyler Herro would be untouchable in such a deal,” Jackson wrote. “Though the Heat loves Herro, the source advised against any conclusion that he wouldn’t be made available in a Harden deal if serious talks eventually happen. He would be in play.”
Herro averaged 13.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists his rookie season.
