Behind Ja Morant, the Memphis Grizzlies should only continue to get better as the years go on. Their season ended without a playoff birth last season after a season-ending injury of Jaren Jackson Jr. and falling short in the bubble play-in tournament.
While Jackson Jr. won’t be ready for the start of the season, Memphis should still be competitive without him. Even with how tough the Western Conference is, the Grizzlies will look to take a step forward and earn their spot in the playoffs.

Biggest Acquisitions
- Desmond Bane: The Grizzlies were able to acquire Bane, who was the very last pick in
theh 2020 NBA Draft. A four-year college player at TCU, he improved his numbers every single season. He will look to continue that trend in the NBA as he develops into a key piece of this young Memphis team. - Mario Hezonja: As the former No. 5 overall
pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, Hezonja has never turned into the player we thought he could be. However, as an experienced player who can play both of the forward spots while also being a solid three-point shooter, he was a great pickup for the Grizzlies.

Anthony Tolliver | Free Agency |
Biggest Losses
- Josh Jackson: After being taken No. 4 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft, Jackson could never get his career on the right track. Trying to jumpstart his career in Memphis, he showed some flashes last season, but won’t be spending a second season with the Grizzlies.
- Anthony Tolliver: As a veteran leader for the Grizzlies during the latter portion of the 2019-20 season, Tolliver showed why he still is earning contracts in the NBA. He converted on .415 of his three-pointers with Memphis, who really valued his ability to stretch the floor.
