Markieff Morris got a taste of what being a champion is like last season with the Los Angeles Lakers. In a key bench role, he proved his worth and was brought back on a minimum deal, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
After being bought out by the Pistons late last season, Morris was a crucial pickup for the Lakers in the buyout market who were in need of depth. In the playoffs, Morris shot 29-of-69 (.420) from beyond the arc, giving the Lakers a huge boost as a much needed stretch four off the bench.
This news came shortly after his twin brother, Marcus Morris, re-signed with the Clippers on a long-term deal. At least for the upcoming season, the Morris twins will be Los Angeles rivals once again in pursuit of an NBA title.
