The 2021 NBA Draft is set to take place next Thursday, with quite a few teams looking to move around. While there will be many teams moving up and down throughout the night, there’s one pick in general that continues to be intriguing to teams.
Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer reported on Thursday that both the Orlando Magic and Toronto Raptors have expressed ‘significant trade interest’ in the No. 3 overall pick owned by the Cavaliers.
The Magic are slated to select at No. 5 and No. 8 within the lottery while the Raptors are slotted at No. 4 overall. Each of these teams certainly have the assets to move up a spot or two to get the prospect they really want, but it will come down to what Cleveland’s asking price is to do so.
With the third overall pick, the teams moving up would likely be looking to take Jalen Green or Evan Mobley, depending on who doesn’t get taken second overall. While there likely will be many draft picks traded next week, most of these transactions won’t happen until the night of the actual event.
