Former University of Iowa star Luka Garza now has more certainty about his basketball future as the Detroit Pistons have signed him to a two-way contract, according to The Atheltic’s Shams Charania.
Garza had an impressive showing in NBA Summer League, averaging 15 points and 9.6 rebounds per game while shooting 52 percent from the field and 40 percent from three over five games.
The Pistons drafted Garza out of the University of Iowa with the 52nd overall pick after Garza won the men’s Naismith Player of the Year Award in his senior season.
Garza will join an emerging young core of the Pistons, including Cade Cunningham, Saddiq Bey, Killian Hayes, Isaiah Stewart and Sekou Doumbouya.
