After being traded at the deadline last season, Lou Williams became a member of the Atlanta Hawks to bolster their bench unit. This paid off, with the Hawks making it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals while Williams averaged an efficient 7.7 points in just 15.4 minutes per game while shooting 43.3 percent from deep.
Upon entering free agency this summer, he was an attractive veteran target, with everyone around the League knowing how great of a scorer he is. However, as reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic, Williams will be re-signing with Atlanta on a one-year, $5 million deal.
After having a successful draft and productive offseason thus far, the Hawks are well-positioned to make noise in the 2021-22 season as well. With Williams back, their bench will once again have quite a bit of firepower.
