The Los Angeles Lakers are turning the page back to what aided them in the road to the 2020 NBA Championship as four-time MVP LeBron James is set to host a three-day minicamp for his teammates in Las Vegas starting Friday, per Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.
James originally orchestrated a minicamp prior to the Lakers scheduled training camp hosted before the 2019-20 season; serving as a short period of integration to the roster for then recently acquired Anthony Davis. The four-time champion is looking to mirror that success following the offseason acquisitions of Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony and a myriad of other familiar veterans.
Although training camp is approaching, this gives the team a weekend to iron out the kinks and to expand upon their chemistry away from the Lakers facility

Along with the aforementioned Westbrook and Anthony, the Lakers can project significant roles for new arrivals such as Wayne Ellington, Kendrick Nunn, Malik Monk and Trevor Ariza next season. Subsequently, at least half of the Lakers’ revamped rotation will be playing for the Lakers—and as a teammate of superstars LeBron, Russ or AD—for the first time in their careers.
The Lakers official training camp will open on Sep. 28 with preseason tipping off on Oct. 3.
