Russell Westbrook has built his reputation on never giving up no matter how bad things get. If there was a week that NBA fans needed a reminder, it showed in the last 48 hours.
After suffering what could be considered the worst season of his career, the final moments of the Lakers’ loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves was a real low point for one of the NBA’s top 75 players.
Westbrook rebounded with a triple-double, scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, helping the Los Angeles Lakers snap an 11-game road losing streak with a massive 128-123 win over the Toronto Raptors. But the Lakers, particularly Brodie, had to overcome adversity to get it.
With less than ten seconds left in regulation, Westbrook shot a three-pointer from the left wing that hit the side of the backboard that Toronto rebounded as they called timeout. Then Russ saved the game by hitting the biggest shot in months for Los Angeles Lakers.

After the game, Westbrook broke down the play while explaining how leaning on his faith allows him to press on through tough times.
“A lot of times with your misses, when they’re bad misses, that get a lot of attention and stuff,” A Lakers reporter asked. “The shots that are kind of high off the backboard. How do you not let that stuff affect your confidence?”
Westbrook: “I got 23,000 points. How about that?”
