Words hurt.
Following the Milwaukee Bucks’ loss to the Phoenix Suns in Game 2 of the 2021 NBA Finals, ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins had heavy-handed criticism for the Bucks squad, calling them “the “dumbest” team to ever play in the NBA Finals on Friday’s episode of the “Get Up” podcast.
“Lets not overcomplicate this and make this simple,” Perkins said.
“The Milwaukee Bucks have the dumbest team in Finals history, and the Phoenix Suns have the youngest team with the highest IQ in NBA history.”
Perkins is known for having his share with bizarre sports takes but, that one takes the cake, by far. Led by one of the most dominant superstars in the league in Giannis Antetokounmpo, teammates such as Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez and PJ Tucker don’t lack for basketball IQ, even when their shots aren’t falling.
With that said, Milwaukee has collectively made a number of costly and careless mistakes against Phoenix, plays which Perkins would describe as “disturbing.”
The Bucks will host the Suns in Game 3 on Sunday at 7 p.m. CT.
