Karl-Anthony Towns has little patience for the current, ugly state of things in Minnesota.
“I’ve been losing for a long time,” a frustrated Towns told reporters Wednesday night after the Timberwolves dropped their 13th in a row, falling 127-120 to the visiting Atlanta Hawks
Making things even worse for KAT, was the decision to trade his “best friend” and teammate Robert Covington to Houston in a four-team, 12-player deal.
Per The Star Tribune and The AP:
“We just didn’t play, we didn’t execute the game plan, we didn’t do what we needed to do,” said center Karl-Anthony Towns, who scored 21 points with 11 rebounds but, like the rest of the team Wednesday, was inconsistent.
“We put ourselves into a hole, tried to fight back, but it was too late,” he said.
The Minnesota Timberwolves struggled to find energy in their 13th straight loss, with their best defensive player, Robert Covington, already in his new city.
“The last 24 hours, I haven’t slept much,” said Karl-Anthony Towns, who grew close to Covington after he landed in Minnesota last season following the trade that sent disgruntled Jimmy Butler to Philadelphia. Covington arrived in Houston earlier in the day.
