Brooklyn Nets superstar guard James Harden has been diagnosed with a right hamstring strain, the team announced Tuesday night. Harden suffered his injury on Monday night when the Nets took on the New York Knicks, playing four minutes before being pulled and not returning to the game.
The Nets say Harden will be out for the next 10 days and will be re-evaluated at the end of that timeframe. With that timeline, Harden is slated to miss at least five games over the next two weeks, including games against the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers.
The Beard has had yet another MVP-caliber season in 2020-21, and 42 games into the season has averaged 25.2 points, 8.0 rebounds and 10.9 assists per game with a true shooting percentage of .616. With All-NBA forward Kevin Durant recently returning to the lineup, Brooklyn will have an easier time surviving in his absence.
Nonetheless, as the Nets (36-16) are currently first in the Eastern Conference standings, they would likely love to have Harden back sooner rather than later.
Not only to keep their momentum but to build chemistry before their first playoff run while led by the Big Three of Durant, Harden and Kyrie Irving.
