The Utah Jazz welcomed veteran forward Ed Davis back to the lineup after playing without him since Nov. 1. The 30-year-old has been sidelined with a fractured fibula suffered that game and has finally returned to action.
Davis was one of several depth pieces the Jazz added over the course of the offseason and he’ll step back into the front court of a team that’s managed to be competitive in the West with a 12-7 record.
Davis hadn’t been utilized very heavily during the first seven games that he did play with the new franchise but he’s a productive reserve capable of cleaning the glass. Davis is averaging 1.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game in 2019-20 but averaged 8.6 boards last year with the Brooklyn Nets.
Davis’ return falls right in line with what the team initially expected when he was given a four-week recovery timeline. He played 12 minutes and grabbed five rebounds in his first game back.
