The Miami Heat have suspended Dion Waiters for six teams, the team has revealed. It’s the third such team-mandated penalty for the veteran two-guard this season.
Waiters’ latest suspension is for continued insubordination and violating team rules and policies.
Waiters has struggled mightily this season, initially failing to meet the team’s agreed upon conditioning requirements and eventually causing additional drama after consuming marijuana-infused edibles on a team plane last month.
Waiters, who hasn’t actually played in 2019-20, is owed $12 million this season and an additional $12.6 million next year.
