The Knicks and Pistons will be crossing the pond early in the new year. The regular season tilt will take place in London, England. Per the Detroit Free Press: “The Detroit Pistons and New York Knicks will play Jan. 17 in London, the league announced today. The game previously had been designated for international play, but the site wasn’t immediately disclosed. This will be the Pistons’ first game in Europe. The O2 arena in London will host its seventh NBA game — including four exhibitions — since 2007. […] ‘London was the epicenter of global sports this summer, and the Olympics were a tremendous showcase for basketball,’ NBA commissioner David Stern said in a released statement. ‘Playing our third regular-season game in the city in three years and having historic franchises like the Knicks and Pistons serve as our ambassadors provide extraordinary opportunities to further the game’s growth and development in the UK and throughout Europe.’”
