It’s hard to imagine anyone taking down Team USA in the 2012 Olympics, but considering the equipment being used, maybe there’s a chance (if ever so slight.) Deron Williams explains, via the Star-Ledger: “Both are very different,’ Deron Williams said, when he was asked about the ball and rims here. ‘If you hit any part of the rim, it’s coming out. I learned that in Turkey, too: I had to put more arc on the ball. The ball. . . is the same size, but we’re playing with new ones, so they’re slippery. It takes a while to break a ball in. We don’t play with new ones (in the NBA), we use the ones that are worn in.’ Tyson Chandler added: ‘And these balls are different from the ones we’ve practiced with, because we broke in our own.'”
