The Los Angeles Clippers officially brought back big man Joakim Noah on a rest-of-season contract yesterday. Noah had been signed to a 10-day contract when the league was suspended on March 12.
All active 10-day deals at the time of the hiatus were wiped clean when the league’s transaction window opened but there was never any doubt that the 35-year-old center would end up back with the Clippers ahead of the 2020 postseason.
Noah has yet to play in a game for his new team but established himself as a vocal, valuable paint defender for the Memphis Grizzlies in 2018-19, boasting intangible traits that should serve his new team well in 2020.
Noah has an opportunity to slot in as a major component of a competitive Clippers squad in the postseason, from a leadership perspective at the very least.
