The popular, and once-explosive guard was the third overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft.
Per Yahoo!:
In the 2012 NBA playoffs, Davis emerged as a starter for the Knicks before suffering complete tears of the ACL, MCL and patellar tendon in his right knee. He has been out of the NBA ever since, but has worked to elevate his fitness to return to pro basketball and signed in the D-League in January.
No D-League team had signed Davis until he planned to join Delaware, which has lost guards Jordan McRae (Cleveland) and Sean Kilpatrick (Brooklyn) to NBA call-ups. As long as Davis reports in shape, Delaware will move forward with the signing, sources said.
Davis is expected to debut for Delaware in Friday’s home game against Iowa, sources said. […] Davis averaged 16.1 points, 7.2 assists and 3.8 rebounds while playing for Charlotte, New Orleans, the Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland and New York.
