It’s safe to say that Anthony Davis is fully recovered from a sprained right ankle.
The superstar forward sprung for 33 points and 13 rebounds in 37 minutes Thursday night, but Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans fell 114-111 to the the Orlando Magic in overtime of the preseason finale.
The Pels are limping into the regular season with five consecutive losses.
Per The Times-Picayune:
”I liked the way we were playing and then I tought we went away from that,” Coach Alvin Gentry said. ”We weren’t as aggressive defensively and we started to do some individual things offensively. When we do the right things and execute and play the right way, we’re a pretty good basketball team. When we don’t, we struggle.”
Three minutes into the game, Davis already had nine points and he didn’t stop there. He had 16 by the end of the first quarter and 24 at halftime on 9-of-14 shooting.
Davis struck like it was a regular-season game, easily making quick pull-up and step back jumpers. He also made a 3-pointer and nine of 11 free throws. Davis, however, closed out the game making only 2-of-13 shots.
