NBA washout Adam Morrison is headed back to school — Morrison will join Gonzaga’s coaching staff next season, as a student assistant. Per CBS Sports: “Former Gonzaga star and National Player of the Year Adam Morrison is taking classes at the West Coast Conference school and will be a member of the Bulldogs’ coaching staff this season, coach Mark Few said on Thursday. ‘He’ll be a student assistant,’ Few said. ‘It’ll be great. The players really respect him.’ Morrison, 28, became a college basketball icon — thanks in part to a 28.1 points per game scoring average and unforgettable mustache — in 2006 while leading Gonzaga to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. The 6-foot-8 forward was named a First Team All-American and the Chevrolet National Player of the Year that season before becoming the third overall pick of the 2006 NBA Draft. He spent four years in the NBA, where he was a member of two championship teams with the Lakers in 2009 and 2010.”
