It didn’t take long for Tim Duncan to pop up at the Spurs facility. Gregg Popovich has already said that the recently retired Spur can be the “coach of whatever he wants” and joked that he is fining the former franchise player $2500 for everyday he doesn’t show up to practice.
On day two of training camp, Duncan showed up at San Antonio’s facility and was seen chopping it up with a few of the players:

According to My San Antonio, Duncan was giving pointers to a few of the younger players, including big man Dewayne Dedmon:
“I need to talk more, communicate more on defense,” Dedmon said Duncan told him. “I’ll be doing that next time.”
Spurs GM RC Buford also reiterated that Duncan has a spot with the team whenever he feels ready to join:
“Whatever he decides it will be,” Buford said. “I think he’s learning about life after playing. He can impact us in so many ways. I think we need to sit back and get a better understanding of how he feels like he wants to fit in, and what works for his family, and then we’ll figure it out from there. The gym feels better when he’s in it.”
