Paul George Says Pacers Are Lifeless: ‘There’s No Trust, There’s No Chemistry, There’s No Belief’
Just seven games into the season and Paul George already sounds defeated. The Indiana Pacers sit at 3-4 after getting blown out by the Charlotte Hornets 122-100 and following the game, PG called the Pacers “lifeless.”
From the Indy Star:
“We’re all out of whack,” George said. “There’s no trust, there’s no chemistry, there’s no belief. We’re kind of just lifeless right now.”
Teammate Thad Young also chimed in, saying that the team needs to get it together before they face the top teams in the League:
“We obviously know we’re better at home, but on the road we have to get some of these games,” he said. “The crazy thing is we haven’t really played the toughest teams. When those teams come around, they’re not going to play around with us.”
The Pacers made a complete overhaul in the offseason when they let Frank Vogel go, promoted Nate McMillan and brought in veterans like Young, Al Jefferson and Jeff Teague. The early returns have not been good. Indiana has a chance to get back on track this week, as the team plays Philadelphia in a home and home series on Wednesday and Friday.
