There’s no question Manu Ginobili has had an enormous impact on America, the NBA and the Spurs. He’ll make the Hall of Fame just off of his resume in the League.
For everything he’s done in America, however, his influence on the basketball landscape of Argentina can’t be measured. From leading the Argentines to a win over the Americans in 2004, to taking the Gold Medal just a few days later, to staying as committed to the national team program as he has for 20 years, Manu is the face, heart and soul of Argentine basketball.
His squad just got knocked out of the 2016 Olympics by the Americans, marking the end of his international career. An emotional Ginobili made the rounds after the game, getting congratulated by his teammates and opponents. Check out footage of Manu’s goodbye below. Felicitaciones, Manu!
