One of the biggest storylines of the summer has been around the future of Ben Simmons. One of the most versatile players in the entire NBA, it looks like there’s a good chance he could be traded prior to the start of the season.
One team that makes sense for Simmons is the Golden State Warriors, who are among the top betting favorites to land him.
Either way, has Golden State even had conversations around what a trade would look like for the rising star?
According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, there has never been a realistic trade offer on the table from Philadelphia for the Warriors to even discuss regarding Simmons.
Slater would go on to report that the Warriors were among the teams the Sixers called during their initial round trade inquiries, but that was prior to the draft. Additionally, the asking price was much too steep for Simmons, so no bargaining even happened.
To this point, Philadelphia and Golden State have never had serious talks on a trade for Simmons. However, things change quickly in the NBA so don’t count anything out.
