For the second time this season, Trae Young has sprained his right ankle. The sophomore guard exited Atlanta’s Friday night game against the Bucks and didn’t return.
The 21-year-old has already been ruled out of the team’s Saturday night contest against the Bulls and didn’t even travel to Chicago, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Initial x-rays conducted on the injury were negative.
“I rolled it pretty bad,” Young told the media. “It hurts pretty bad right now, but that’s to be expected. I’m getting treatment on it and iced it already.”
Young only missed one game with his initial ankle sprain back in October thanks to fortunate scheduling but was sidelined for just under a week.
It’s unclear if the fact that this is a second injury on the same ankle will impact how the team handles Young’s latest rehabilitation.
