Stephen Curry is in a zone that no one has seen from any player in recent memory. His shooting, particularly from behind the arc, has been historic. After passing Ray Allen for his all-time accuracy from 3 point range, he passed his teammate Klay Thompson more uniquely.
When Curry exploded for 20 fourth-quarter points to help the Warriors come from behind and beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 104-89, he hit the 40 point plateau, but this time with a caveat.
In his 40-point showcase, Curry only went to the free-throw line once. According to ESPN Stats and Info, Curry’s career marked the third time that he has scored 40 points with one or no free throw attempts, which is the most in NBA history. He passed his teammate and fellow “Splash Brother,” Thompson for most career games in that category. They represent the only two players in NBA history who have achieved the feat multiple times.
Thursday was Stephen Curry’s 3rd career 40-point game with 1 or no free throw attempts, passing his Splash Brother, Klay Thompson for the most in NBA history.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr spoke on Steph’s unique accomplishments via Yahoo! Sports.
“Nothing surprises me anymore, and yet I’m amazed if that makes sense,” coach Steve Kerr said of Curry after the win vs. the Cavs. “It’s still incredible to watch, but you sort of expect it. That’s what greatness is about … you sort of expect something to happen, and then he does it, and you’re just in awe.”
The Warriors now have an NBA-best 14-2 record going into their matchup against the Toronto Raptors on the road.
