Joel Embiid had an excellent 2020-21 season, leading the Philadelphia 76ers to the best record in the Eastern Conference and coming second in MVP voting. After a disappointing exit in the playoffs, he is ready to take the next step to help the team get over the hump going forward.
Although he had the best season of his career and played as good as anybody, Embiid thinks he still has untapped potential.
“Next year I’m going to be even better. I got to be better. I got to take another step with it comes to taking care of my body, and my game as a whole because I still feel like I have a lot of untapped potential that people haven’t really seen.”
Through 11 playoff games, Embiid averaged 28.1 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per contest.
While there’s a good chance the Sixers shake up the roster this summer, Embiid still wants to come back better than ever.
