One of the biggest names on the trade market this summer will be Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers. Just 25 years old, he has his flaws but is still one of the rising stars of the NBA.
According to Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee, Kings have expressed interest in the All-Star guard.
Kings GM Monte McNair and Sixers president Daryl Morey spent 13 years together with the Houston Rockets, so their relationship could certainly play a big role in trade talks. With that in mind, Anderson also reported that De’Aaron Fox has not been discussed in any of these packages.
The Sixers have a high price tag on Simmons, with sources saying the Kings would have to send a minimum of three first-round picks or have Fox or Tyrese Haliburton included in the trade.
While it will take a huge package to pry Simmons away from Philadelphia, the Kings need to make a big splash this summer to turn the franchise around.
