The shortest retirement perhaps in NBA history predictably came to an end Wednesday night, when Richard Jefferson announced that he’ll be in a Cavs uniform next season.
Jefferson, 36, will reportedly ink a two-year, $5 million contract with Cleveland.

Jefferson, 36, emerged as a key contributor during Cleveland's title run. His experience was invaluable, and he proved he had a lot left.

The veteran forward was a calming and effective presence for the Cavs during their title run last season.

Initially Jefferson said he was retiring after the Cavaliers won the NBA title, but later reversed course at the team’s championship parade. LeBron James and company talked him out of retirement following a 15-year career.
Jefferson played a vital role in serving as James’ backup. His play elevated as the season went along and it carried into the postseason where he had a strong showing. In 74 appearances for the Cavaliers, he averaged 5.5 points and 1.7 rebounds.
