One of the most interesting free agent situations to monitor this summer will be Dwyane Wade‘s.
Wade has a player option this summer worth $16.1 million for the 2015-16 season, but recently the buzz is that Wade has grown upset with the way the Heat are treating his contract situation. He may decline to pick up that option. So where might he end up instead, if things fall through in Miami?
According to a report on Sunday, Wade and the Lakers have “mutual interest” in free agency. Woah.
Clearly, it makes little sense for Wade, 33, to join a rebuilding Lakers team, but Los Angeles will have money to blow this summer and imagining the pairing of Wade and Kobe Bryant—albeit no longer the young, prime versions of themselves—is a fun exercise.
From Chris Mannix of SI via Twitter:
While many execs still see Wade/Heat as contract saber rattling, a Wade option will be the Lakers. Mutual interest, per league sources.

Hard to see LA offering Wade a better chance to win than Miami, especially in the West. But it is LA, and they do have money to burn.
