Wayne Ellington has established himself as one of the most efficient three-point shooters in the NBA over the course of his career. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Ellington will sign a one-year deal with Detroit worth $2.6 million for the upcoming season.
This will be his second stint with the Pistons after playing 26 games with the team in the 2018-19 season when he was traded from the Miami Heat to the Phoenix Suns. He was waived one day later before being picked up by Detroit.
Ellington will be 33 at the start of the 2020-21 season, but still has plenty he can bring to the table. Last season with the Knicks, he averaged only 5.1 points per game but shot .350 from deep on 4.0 attempts per contest.
