After missing the Playoffs for the first time in six seasons, the OKC Thunder have fired head coach Scott Brooks. The 2010 Coach of the Year has been on the hot seat for a while, as OKC has underperformed over the past few seasons.

The Thunder released a statement explaining that Brooks was let go “in order to stimulate progress and put ourselves in the best position next season.”
