The Toronto Raptors have announced that forward Pascal Siakam will be out indefinitely with a groin strain sustained Wednesday night. The 25-year-old landed awkwardly in the fourth quarter of the team’s game against the Detroit Pistons.
Siakam’s groin strain is considered a mild one, Michael Grange of Sportsnet reports.
Siakam has enjoyed a breakout campaign for the Raptors and has averaged 25.1 points and 8.0 rebounds throughout the first third of the NBA season. He’ll hope to return to action sooner than later as Toronto battles to hang on to the No. 3 spot in the Eastern Conference.
Siakam has played in at least 80 games in each of the past two seasons.
