Magic Johnson’s Twitter feed is a true gem, but his tweeting style cost him his role of Honorary Vice President with the Lakers.
Late last night (June 11), the Lakers sent a press release saying that the legendary point guard no longer has a position with the organization and directly cited his social media posts.
From the Los Angeles Times
“Earvin will always be a revered and beloved member of the Lakers family, but he does not have a position or role with the organization at this time,” Lakers publicist John Black said in a statement released by the team.
“He is not an advisor or a consultant, and his opinions, comments and social media posts are solely his, and do not represent or reflect those of Lakers ownership or management. Hopefully this will eliminate any confusion over this issue in the future.”
Magic’s tweets are usually fall into either the “painfully obvious” or “borderline tampering” categories. Check some of his greatest hits below:
