LeBron James held court at practice for a media session before heading out West for Game 1 of the NBA Finals and gave props to his opponent.
“They shoot the ball extremely well. I mean, Klay and Steph are probably the two greatest shooters we’ve ever seen, obviously in today’s game they are,” said James. “Some of the shots [they make], there’s nothing you can do about it. Better offense beats great defense every day, that’s always been the case in basketball. You have to be able to do other things to stop them. It’s hard to contain them, the whole league knows that but we have a gameplan and have to stick to it.”
Later, he reiterated the statement with, “You can’t match 3-pointers with those guys. Like I said, Klay and Steph are the best shooters in the world.”
The Warriors sharpshooters were tops in the league in 3-point shooting this season and Curry became the first player in NBA history to hit over 400 3-pointers in a year.
The 2016 Finals kick off Thursday, June 2 at 9 P.M. EST.
