LeBron James Says He ‘Won’t Allow’ the Cavs to Be Selfish

The Cleveland Cavaliers (1-2) are clearly still figuring each other out, and working out the kinks on both ends of the floor.

LeBron James isn’t worried about team chemistry, however.

James polices selfish play closely, and says it simply won’t fly with the Cavs.

Per the NOMG:

“I won’t allow individuals to be selfish,” James said after the team’s shootaround [Tuesday]. “If I’m on the team, you automatically have to be unselfish, so I’m not worried about it.”

“It took a little time. Obviously you have to earn your ranks in this league first of all,” James said. “When you become a leader of a team and when you’re successful at doing things the right way, then everyone kind of buys into it.

“Everyone wants to win, I would hope. Would you rather play selfish basketball and lose or play unselfish basketball, sacrifice and win? So you pick it.”
