LeBron James re-aggravated a recent groin injury in the Los Angeles Lakers’ Christmas Day loss to the Los Angeles Clippers and it could force him to miss some upcoming games, Dave McMenamin of ESPN reports.
Coincidentally James suffered a groin injury last Christmas that ultimately cost him 17 games but McMenamin notes that this latest injury is unrelated to the first and that this less dire one is located on James’ right side.
James missed one game earlier this week as he rested from the initial flare up of this recent injury and he recalls taking a knee to the same area in the first quarter of the Christmas Day game.
While the Lakers’ may not want to rest James as they look to steer out of a four-game losing streak, they’re a franchise with championship intentions and well aware of the big picture.
McMenamin writes that members of the Lakers organization have approached James about the urgency of resting and rehabilitating thoroughly.
