The defending champion Golden State Warriors are the favorites heading into the NBA Finals rematch with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but LeBron James doesn’t want to hear anything about who’s the underdog in the highly-anticipated series.
James has a much healthier squad around him compared to the ragtag group he led in last year’s battle with the title-winning Dubs.

This will be LBJ’s sixth consecutive trip to the Finals.

Like Coach (Tyronn) Lue said (Monday), we’re just waiting on the winner,” James said after the Cavs practiced Tuesday before flying to California to prepare for Game 1 at Oracle Arena Thursday night. This Cleveland iteration is much healthier – Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love are full go and have been dominant for much of the 2016 playoffs – and deeper. There was no such thing as Channing Frye and Richard Jefferson coming off the bench to drain 3s and play defense last season. […] James leads the Cavs in scoring with 24.6 points per game in the playoffs – well below the 30.1 points he averaged last postseason and a mile behind the 35.8 he scored in the 2015 Finals.
But, and here’s the catch, James wasn’t ready to declare his team an underdog. Do with this what you will. […] “Not my concern,” he said. “I don’t get involved in all of that – underdog, overdog, whatever the case may be. It’s stupidity.”
